I was hospitalized the begining of June 2010 for respitory failure. I was using an pulse oximeter from one of my home nurses. I was doing better and returned it to her. We felt that it would be best to have my own meter to test myself. I had not been feeling very intergetic and my oxygen would drop a little more than usual. On September 3rd I felt tired. I went to lay down for a nap and my boyfriend checked my oxygen level and it was at 50. He than called 911 and when they got to me I was at 20. I was rushed to emergency. I am a home care nurse who has one of those patients who has “fell thru the cracks”. She gets just enough each month not to get any help but not enough to make it thru the month.
